At the November 8, 2022, Columbia River Gorge Commission meeting, the Commission decided to provide additional time for interested members of the public to review the final version of the Climate Change Action Plan before the Commission approves it at the December 13, 2022 meeting. Staff welcomes questions or written comments on the final plan by November 22, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. emailed to
The action plan will consist of mitigating climate change and reduce emmissions by reducing the number of gas-powered single occupancy vehicle trips across the Gorge. They hope to see this goal by supporting and increasing transit ridership to transit, shuttle, and parking solutions.
They also want to see public direct current (DC) fast charging is available at least every 25 miles along I-84 or SR-14, and 50% of Urban Areas have public Level 2 or DC fast charging stations. There is no mention on who will pay for these but claims to already havve a strategy for for desired locations and types of charging stations, as well as partnerships in place to implement them by 2030.
