Volleyball
Volleyball traveled to Tenino, winning Varsity and JV (3-0) games. Varsity won 3-1 (19-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-17). Dani Wallace had 10/10 serving with 2 aces. Rebecca Townsend had 7 assists. Cayden Hulsey-Bible had 5 assists and 1 block. Madison Kerch had 6 kills.
Samia Rudd had 10 digs, 2 blocks, and 2 kills. Piper Rudd had 18/20 serving with 3 aces, 6 kills, and 10 digs. Piper is also a WIAA Week 2 Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performance at the Centerville Classic Volleyball Tournament. Volleyball travels again on Tuesday, September 27th to La Center and will play at home on Thursday, September 29th against Seton Catholic. JV begins at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7 p.m..
Football
On Friday night, the Bulldogs beat Seton Catholic 40-37, after an intense fourth quarter winning field goal by Kacen Bach. Kacen Bach, Joseph Jenkins, Gavin Gantner, Tucker Wyninger, and Nate Kick were all key players in this game. Bach had 2 touchdowns, completed 6 out of 14 passes for a total of 104 yards, 9 rushes for 82 yards, threw 1 interception and on defensed had 1 interception, 3 extra points, and the winning field goal. Jenkins received 2 for 27 yards, 12 rushes for 88 yards, and 1 touchdown. Gantner had 11 rushes for 36 yards, 1 sack, and completed 2, 2-point conversions. Wyninger received 2 for 10 yards, 6 rushes for 40 yards, and 1 touchdown. Kick received 2 for 67 yards and 1 touchdown. The football team travels to Kalama on Friday, September 30th ,but will play at home on Friday, October 7th against Adna for the SHS Homecoming game.
Girls Soccer
On Saturday, Girls Soccer traveled to Fort Vancouver for a non-league game. The Bulldogs won 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Aria Obias during the first half of the game. They play again at home on Thursday, September 29th at 6 p.m. against Seton Catholic.
Cross Country
Cross Country traveled to the Nike Portland Invite held at Blue Lake Regional Park. The Bulldogs’ first male runner, Brayden Hays, completed the Blue Lake course in 19:41.9, and the first female runner, Alaska Jones, completed the course in 24:15.7. Overall, there were 10 SHS runners who set new personal records. The Cross-Country team will have their next meet on Wednesday, September 28th at Strawberry Island in North Bonneville. Races begin at 3:45 p.m.
