The Skamania Observer is Closing

After much consideration, I have decided to cease publication of the paper, our last issue will be on October 11th, 2023.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your loyalty and support of The Skamania Observer. It has been a privilege to serve you, and I am immensely grateful for your trust in me to provide important and accurate information.

Our world is constantly trying to squash those with a conservative voice, and I have always strived to ensure that voice is heard.

You have not heard the last of The Skamania Observer yet. I am currently working on creating a new blog website, that will be available to all, to share valuable information about our county and the state of things in general. This facebook page will remain open as well.

As far as publication goes, although we will no longer be printing newspapers, that does not mean I can’t print information in other forms, I am currently working on changing the format for how I share information via print. I am not entirely sure what this new format will look like, but I pledge to continue sharing news with you, with the same integrity I have always upheld.

Local journalism plays a crucial role in our republic, and your support for credible news sources is needed now more than ever.

Although I have seen this shift coming for a while, the main reason I have decided to make it a reality now, is due to a dear friend of mine reaching out to me. She is a mother of four, her youngest being nine months old, and she has fallen very ill. I am headed down to California to uplift her family.Prayers are appreciated as they go through this difficult period in their lives.

Once again, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to you for being a part of the The Skamania Observer community. I have truly appreciated your support over the years. If you have any questions or concerns about this decision, please do not hesitate to contact me at theskamaniaobserver@gmail.com or via the mail PO Box 354 Carson, WA 98610.

With deepest appreciation and warm regards. God Bless you,

Elizabeth Diers
